Social Prediction Platform · Uganda

Ifother

A structured platform for prediction contests among people who know each other — resolved by facts, paid out fairly.

What Ifother Is

Ifother is a social prediction and challenge resolution platform. It provides the infrastructure for groups of people — friends, colleagues, teammates, or members of any established community — to create formal, money-backed prediction contests on real-world events and resolve them transparently.

Every contest on the platform is anchored to a specific, upcoming event that is directly observable by everyone participating. Participants select the outcome they believe will occur, contribute a fixed stake, and receive a proportional share of the pool if they are correct.

The platform does not set odds, does not take positions in any contest, and plays no role in determining outcomes. It acts as a neutral infrastructure layer — holding stakes securely in escrow, enforcing contest rules, and distributing winnings automatically upon resolution.

Who It Is Designed For

Ifother is built exclusively for use within established social circles. This means friends who share daily life, colleagues in a workplace, sports teams, family groups, university peers, or members of a shared online community. The platform is not a general-purpose prediction market open to anonymous or public participation.

This design is deliberate. The integrity of every contest depends on participants sharing enough context to independently witness — or be in a position to verify — the outcome. When all parties know each other and know the event, resolution is honest, observable, and unambiguous.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age and resident in Uganda. Each account is tied to a single verified mobile number.

How It Works

01

A contest is created

A user defines a contest around a specific upcoming event — selecting between 2 and 8 possible outcomes, setting the entry amount, and specifying how long participation is open. A unique access code is generated for the contest.

02

Participants join and pick a side

Invited participants enter using the access code, select the outcome they predict, and commit their stake. All funds are held in escrow until the contest is resolved. No funds change hands until a winner is declared.

03

The outcome is declared

Once the event concludes, the creator — and any judges they have appointed — declares the correct outcome using the platform's resolution tools. All participants are notified immediately.

04

Winnings are distributed

Participants who selected the correct outcome share the total pool proportionally to their stake. The creator receives a 5% reward for hosting. The platform retains a 5% service fee. Both charges are disclosed before entry. All payouts are credited to wallets and are withdrawable at any time.

Platform Principles

Transparent Outcomes

All contests are based on real events within a shared social context, making outcomes inherently observable. There is no hidden information, no algorithmic result, and no operator determination. Every outcome is a matter of fact that all participants either witnessed directly or have equal and open access to verifying. This shared-witness model is foundational to how the platform operates.

Peer-to-Peer Structure

Ifother facilitates transactions between participants — it is not a counterparty in any contest. Payouts are determined entirely by participant contributions. The platform charges a flat, pre-disclosed service fee and does not benefit differently depending on which outcome prevails.

Trust and Accountability

Every resolved contest contributes to a participant's trust score — a visible, platform-wide record of fair and honest participation. The platform is designed to be self-policing: consistent, honest participants build standing over time, while those who act in bad faith face visible consequences and, where warranted, suspension.

Disclosed Fee Structure

A 5% platform service fee and a 5% creator reward are applied to the total pool upon resolution. Both are displayed to every participant before they enter a contest. There are no variable rates, no hidden deductions, and no fees applied to wallet balances between transactions.

What Can Be Contested

Any real-world event with a verifiable, upcoming outcome that all participants can directly observe or access. The platform supports any category — social, professional, sports, personal, financial — provided the outcome is factual and not subject to manipulation by any party in the contest. Examples include:

Who wins the matchWill the project be delivered on timeWho finishes the meal firstWill the promotion be approvedWho arrives lateWho calls firstWill it rain before noonWho pays the billWho breaks the routine firstWill the meeting run overWho gets the answer rightWill the trip actually happen
